Azerbaijan Will Soon Go for at Least a Blitzkrieg, Says Karen Hovhannisyan
In the event of a Russo-Ukrainian confrontation, especially if it lasts for an extended period, the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem will immediately spring into action and carry out large-scale military operations against Armenia, particularly in the direction of Syunik. This was stated by military expert Karen Hovhannisyan during an interview with "Pastinfo".
According to Hovhannisyan, Azerbaijan is at least preparing to launch a blitzkrieg, even if a Russo-Ukrainian war does not occur, and this will happen in the near future to impose the so-called Zangezur corridor on Armenia.
The expert argues that despite all this, Aliyev's positions within Azerbaijan are not that strong. "They are feeding their internal audience with the idea of potential Armenian revanchism, claiming that Armenians will definitely reclaim those territories, that they will achieve revenge, and so on. This is done solely to prevent internal social unrest," the expert stated.
Addressing the reforms taking place in the Armed Forces, he noted that our army is not the same as it was in January 2021; there is less talk and more action, but he does not consider the achievements sufficient.
