19-Year-Old Goris Resident Reported for Insults, Receives Stab Wounds to the Face
The investigation into an attempted murder case involving a resident of Goris has concluded in the Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Authorities report that on February 23, 2021, between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM, a 19-year-old resident of Goris engaged in a conversation with a fellow citizen in front of a café on Gr. Tatevatsi Street. During this conversation, an intervention occurred due to the use of insults by the 19-year-old.
Motivated by hooliganistic incentives and the obsession to assert his own superiority, the young man intentionally struck the intervening citizen with a sharp stabbing object, targeting vital organs in his face, chest, abdomen, and other parts of his body, resulting in life-threatening injuries. However, due to circumstances beyond his control, the crime was not completed, and the victim was transported to a medical center where his life was saved.
Based on sufficient evidence, charges were filed against the 19-year-old under point 10 of part 2 of Article 34-104 of the RA Criminal Code, and he has been detained. The investigation has concluded, and the criminal case has been sent to the prosecuting attorney for confirmation of the indictment and submission to court.
