What Was Found Near the Ashen Bodies of the Missing Couple: New Details

In the regional investigative department of Syunik, under the Investigative Committee of Armenia, urgent investigative and other procedural actions are being conducted in connection with the murder of a couple from Kapan, based on the characteristics described in articles 104, part 2, points 1 and 5 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

The Investigative Committee reports that on February 15, 2022, based on materials received from the Kapan division of the Armenian Police, the bodies of the spouses, reported missing since February 14, were discovered the same day at 18:30 in the area of a partially collapsed club in the settlement of Karmrakar, Kapan, in a burned state.

An investigative-operational group that arrived at the scene discovered a significantly burned female body near the entrance of the aforementioned partially collapsed building and in the courtyard, as well as another burned body of an unidentified gender and age. In the vicinity of the bodies, two bags were also found, one of which contained a mobile phone, plastic bottles, two glass vodka bottles, money, and other items.

Samples have been collected as part of the criminal case, forensic examinations have been appointed, and the investigative body was instructed to undertake operational-search measures. The pre-investigation is ongoing.
