Patron David Lives an Active Life in Prison: 'Hraparak'
According to the 'Hraparak' newspaper, former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan, who is charged in connection with the notorious arms sale case, and the army's former supplier David Galstyan, known as Patron David, are being held in a solitary confinement at the NSS.
It is quite rare for individuals to be isolated, as this is considered the most severe form of detention. However, it was former President Robert Kocharyan who insisted, and now David Tonoyan, that he remains in solitary confinement. The penitentiary has complied with this request.
In contrast, David Galstyan is leading a relatively active life in prison. He shares his cell with Aram Harutyunyan, the former mayor of Vardenis, who led the 'United Vardenis' alliance in the December elections.
It has been reported that Patron David has suggested to his cellmates to forgo prison rations, taking it upon himself to provide nutritious food based on healthy eating principles. He engages in gymnastics, looks after his health, organizes detox days, and even holds prison domino tournaments.
