Black Ice, Fog, Snow: Road Conditions Update

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

The roads from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and Kary Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers (snow chains are necessary).

On the Agvani-Halidzor road in the Syunik region, there are places with black ice (difficult to navigate). Snow has fallen in the area known as Saravan-Zanger and in the Dilijan bends of the Tavush region.

There is fog on the Goris-Kapan road in the Syunik region.

Regarding the Lars road, according to information from the Office of Emergency Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian EMERCOM in North Ossetia, the Stepanmountin-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
