Attempt to Wrongly Deport Armenian Citizen from Russia to Azerbaijan Prevented

As a result of effective cooperation between the Prosecutor's Offices of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, the wrongful deportation of an Armenian citizen born in Azerbaijan to the Republic of Azerbaijan has been prevented. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia.

Considering that the individual had committed an administrative violation in the territory of Russia, the court had made a decision to subject him to administrative responsibility and administrative deportation from the territory of the Russian Federation. However, when presenting the individual's information in the introductory part of the relevant court decision for administrative responsibility and deportation, the court mistakenly indicated that the individual was a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which created a real risk of deportation to Azerbaijan.

Despite the lack of any connection between the deportation process and the powers of the Armenian Prosecutor's Office, the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia took immediate measures to suspend the process, involving the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia and the relevant state authorities of Armenia in resolving the issue.

With the support of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, the issue was brought to the attention of the court that made the aforementioned decision, which promptly rectified the inaccuracies in its decision with an additional ruling, resulting in the individual being returned to Armenia.
