Canada to Supply Lethal Weapons to Ukraine
Canada has decided to supply Kyiv with $6.1 million worth of lethal weapons and provide $500 million in financial assistance, in light of the escalating situation around Ukraine, announced Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
“Following the results of negotiations with our Ukrainian partners and considering the escalation of the situation, I have approved the allocation of $7.8 million (Canadian, $6.1 million) in lethal weapons and ammunition to Ukraine,” the Prime Minister stated during a conversation with reporters, as reported by Interfax.
Trudeau emphasized that “it is important for Canadians and the rest of the world to know that Canada will continue to support Ukraine, its independence, integrity, sovereignty, and right to self-defense.”
