Artsakh Parliament to Announce Position Today
According to 'Hraparak', today the Artsakh Parliament is expected to announce its position as the draft law on the occupied territories of Artsakh will be discussed in the relevant committee. There are reports that the Armenian authorities are doing everything possible to sabotage it, fearing that Azerbaijan will react negatively and resort to another provocation. However, our sources in Artsakh assure that they will not back down from the process, and the parliament will adopt the bill.
It should be noted that the draft law entitled 'On the Occupied Territories of Artsakh' has been circulated with the participation of all five factions of the Artsakh National Assembly, which imposes restrictions on international organizations that attempt to implement investment projects in the occupied territories without the permission of the Armenian side. The bill states that such companies will face difficulties in claiming compensation in the future.
The territories mentioned as being seized by Azerbaijan include Kashatagh, Shahumyan, Martuni, Martakert, Hadrut, Shushi, Askeran regions, and Getashen.
How this law will be practically implemented remains unclear, but the parliament is expected to adopt it this month. The draft includes other regulations as well. If the committee approves it, it will be included in the agenda for the February 16 session.
