Georgian Official Dismissed for Earthquake-Related Dark Humor
Temo Khasia, the director of the State Sports and Youth Center in Batumi, Georgia, published a humorous post on his Facebook page regarding the earthquake that occurred yesterday at the Armenian-Georgian border. He wrote, 'One tremor, and we will resolve the issue of emergency buildings.'
According to Georgian media, the joke did not sit well with the residents of Batumi, where a tragedy recently occurred due to the collapse of an emergency building. Following negative comments, Khasia later announced on his social media that he was resigning and wished success to the staff of the sports center. Both posts were subsequently deleted.
