Division Commander Flees From Combat Position to Save His Life, Resulting in Death of 20 Soldiers

During the investigation of a criminal case initiated due to negligence by the command staff of the N military unit of the Artsakh Defense Army, on August 25, 2021, the deputy commander of the D-20 artillery division, Major G.G., was charged under part 4 of Article 375 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia reports that the investigation gathered evidence proving that G.G. acted out of personal interest to save his own life, demonstrating inactivity in the face of authority during the military emergency declared on September 27, 2020.
