Attempted Murder in Yerevan: One Arrested

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has reported a significant development regarding the attempted murder of a 36-year-old man in Yerevan. Following a series of investigative actions and necessary measures carried out in collaboration with law enforcement, the case has been classified as an attempted murder.

According to preliminary information, on February 10, 2022, at 5:25 PM, a medical center reported that a 36-year-old resident of Yerevan was admitted with injuries described as "stab wounds with sharp edges causing significant bleeding, including penetrating wounds to the abdominal cavity with stomach damage."

In connection with this case, a criminal case has been opened under Article 34, Part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia at the Yerevan Investigative Department of the Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative regions.

As a result of urgent measures taken, several significant circumstances related to the incident have been determined, including the crime scene and the identity of the alleged perpetrator, a man born in 1992 residing in Yerevan. A knife, identified as the weapon used in the crime, has also been found.

An examination of the crime scene was conducted during which blood-like traces were discovered, samples were collected, and the clothing worn by the victim and the suspect at the time of the incident were seized. A forensic medical examination has been appointed to clarify the nature, severity, mechanism of injury, and other relevant circumstances of the victim's injuries.

As a result of operational investigative measures, the suspect has been identified and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of the 36-year-old man and has been interrogated regarding the circumstances of the case. The investigation is ongoing.
