VIDEO: How Yerevan is Actually Being "Cleaned" by Vacuum Machines – Citizens Weigh In
A member of the Facebook group "Don't Do This" has published a video showing how a municipal vacuum machine from the Yerevan City Hall sucks in dust and then ejects it back into the street, leaving a huge cloud of dust behind.
“Is there anyone who can explain the meaning of this phenomenon? The dirt is evenly distributed so that it doesn't accumulate in one place. It’s supposed to clean the city’s dust, but they simply lack the money for proper filters. These machines don’t have filters; we've dealt with this, and everything is much more primitive. There are water needles placed on the suction mechanism that spray water on the dust, and if the water runs out or the needles aren’t cleaned in time, it gives such an effect,” puzzled users wrote.
It’s worth mentioning that yesterday the director and deputy director of the municipal enterprise for "Yerevan Waste Collection and Sanitary Cleaning" were arrested.
