Members of the Facebook group named "Fine" discussed their grievances with journalists, mentioning that several drivers have also received citations.
"They say it's for unnecessary transportation, but we are simply expressing our disagreement. The issue is not limited to the insurance premium increasing by 3,000 drams. It increases by 3,000 drams annually if we do not have an accident; if, for example, we hit an expensive car, it increases by 300 percent. Many people are buying affordable cars considering the anticipated expenses. Imagine if accident situations arise, and the insurance costs that much for the driver," noted one of the drivers.
According to the drivers, they do not want to meet with anyone from the government; they just want to showcase the rising costs and fines that drivers are facing. They believe the issue should be put to broader discussion, as concessions have been granted to insurance sector representatives who are abusing these privileges.
