Video: 'Grigoryan was buried from the corridor, the same goes for Haik': celebrities raise alarm, MoES clarifies
In the last two days, the question of why the funerals of composers Haiko and Arthur Grigoryan were held in the corridor of the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall has been actively discussed online.
Actress and host Nazeni Hovhannisyan posted a video on her Instagram stories addressing the burial of composer Arthur Grigoryan. She stated, 'National Artist of Armenia Arthur Grigoryan was buried from the corridor of the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall, and the same goes for Haiko. Was the artist laid out in the corridor not worthy of better? Why were there no current officials present, wasn’t the National Artist worthy of honor?' she questioned.
In an interview with Auroranews, the MoES (Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports) stated that this is not a corridor but a lobby. 'Many other notable cultural figures, including Gohar Gasparyan, have also been buried from there. At this moment, it is not appropriate to engage in such discussions regarding the burials of our distinguished artists,' emphasized the ministry's spokesperson Gegham Melikbekyan.
