Russian Figure Skater Valieva's Controversial Doping Test Reports Are Speculation: IOC

The official representative of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Mark Adams, has labeled reports regarding Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva's questionable doping test as speculation and gossip.

“You understand that I will not comment on the speculation surrounding this issue. Yes, some legal situations arose yesterday, but it is not appropriate to comment on that. The potential doping case is also just a presumption,” Adams stated at a press conference today.

Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, who missed training yesterday, returned to practice today.

It is worth mentioning that reports emerged yesterday alleging that 15-year-old Kamila Valieva, a member of the Russian national team who won the team championship in figure skating at the 24th Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, had used a prohibited stimulant. As a result, the award ceremony for the Russian figure skating team did not take place.

Eight sets of medals will be contested on February 10 during the ongoing 24th Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.
