NASA Captures Venus' Surface for the First Time in History

NASA has captured images of the surface of Venus for the first time in history through its Parker probe. Astrophysicists now have photographs of Venus's surface, according to the U.S. space agency.

It turns out that the conditions on the planet are so hot that the captured images reveal the glimmer of its rocky surface in the infrared spectrum, similar to how polished metal reflects light.

“Venus is one of the brightest objects in the night sky, but until recently, we had virtually no information about what this planet's surface looks like. This is due to the extremely dense atmosphere that hinders surface exploration,” said astrophysicist Brian Wood from the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory.

The new images are expected to aid researchers in studying the geological features of Venus. One of the images depicts the planet's largest mountainous region, Aphrodite Terra. The data obtained is likely to help reveal some of the mysteries of the formation of our solar system.
