Lavrov and Abdollahian Hold Phone Conversation
The Foreign Ministers of Russia and Iran, Sergey Lavrov and Hossein Amir Abdollahian, held a phone conversation initiated by the Iranian side, during which they discussed the developments surrounding the Iranian nuclear agreement. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, as per Armenpress.
It was noted that the developments regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) concerning Iran's nuclear program were discussed in the context of ongoing negotiations in Vienna on the restoration and full implementation of the nuclear agreement. The foreign ministers expressed their support for the prompt restoration of the JCPOA in its original balanced structure, which was endorsed by the UN Security Council.
The ministers also exchanged views on the results of the successful visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, to Moscow, emphasizing the need to continue expanding Russian-Iranian cooperation in all areas based on the agreements between the presidents.
