‘Hayastan’ and ‘Pativ Unem’ factions will go to court to support Arush Arushanyan: Seyran Ohanyan

The actions of the Armenian authorities, which exhibit a clear desire for tyranny in the eyes of the international community that advocates for democratic values, have led to the illegal detention of community leaders, council members, a judge who did not comply with the illegal wishes of the authority, and many critics of the government. This was stated by Seyran Ohanyan, the head of the ‘Hayastan’ faction, during today’s session of the National Assembly, who also reminded that just two days ago Mayor of Kajaran, Manvel Paramazyan, was again detained.

“We condemn these blatant illegal actions of the authorities against current mayors and community leaders,” said the head of the ‘Hayastan’ faction. He reminded that today the Court of Appeals is addressing the issue of the pre-trial restrictions on political prisoner, Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan.

Seyran Ohanyan also announced that deputies from the two opposition factions would go to court in support of Arush Arushanyan. “We call on our compatriots to participate in this struggle for a legal and democratic Armenia,” declared the head of the ‘Hayastan’ faction.
