Today, Nepotism and Familiarity Must Be Excluded: Grigor Minasyan

My position is political, and the law allows appointing someone to this position who shares the ideas of power, who is recognized and has worked together, but the situation is different for civil positions. This was stated by Grigor Minasyan, the Deputy Minister of Justice, during a conversation with journalists.

"The phenomena of nepotism and familiarity were very painful in the past and still are today; if such cases occur, they must be excluded when civil positions hold competitions to 'pass' their acquaintances and relatives. In my specific case, that issue does not exist," he said.

Regarding the criticism of his appointment, suggesting that he criticized the former authorities and was thus granted a position by the current government, Minasyan stated that these are unjust and erroneous approaches. "Those who have expressed such positions are people who have concerns regarding the fact that I know very well how they operated in the past, which is why such discussions are taking place," Minasyan said.

Grigor Minasyan also commented on some statements made by Nikol Pashinyan in the past, calling them "shoe lickers," "whimpering judges," and "plastering the walls." He stated, "There are political statements, and we all should adhere to the principle that as citizens of the Republic of Armenia, we want to have a good judicial and legal system. We have a strategy for judicial and legal reforms that addresses citizens' concerns, and the Ministry of Justice must make efforts so that we are all satisfied with today's judicial and legal system."
