Fatal Traffic Accident

On February 6, a fatal traffic accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At around 6:40 PM, a 61-year-old resident of Gegharkunik, Varazdat M., struck a 40-year-old local, Ruslan T., with his Opel vehicle on the central street of the village of Geghamavan.

According to shamshyan.com, the driver did not flee the scene and transported the injured Ruslan to the 'Sevan' medical center. The on-site investigative work was led by senior investigator Bakur Saribekyan from the same brigade, who initiated a criminal case under the second part of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code hours later. This was due to a call received at 10:00 PM by the Sevan police department from 'Sevan' medical center, reporting that the injured individual had died in the hospital's intensive care unit.
