Turkey's Parliament Ratifies Shusha Declaration on Military Cooperation with Azerbaijan

Turkey's Parliament has ratified the Shusha Declaration on military cooperation with Azerbaijan, as reported by Izvestia, citing Azerbaijani media. A total of 266 parliamentarians voted in favor of the document, while 11 voted against it.

According to the publication, the document has received high praise from the country’s foreign relations committee. Earlier, on February 1, the Azerbaijani Parliament had also approved the Shusha Declaration.

On June 15, 2021, the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, signed the Shusha Declaration on Allied Relations. Under the agreements reached, the parties will cooperate in defense and military fields and will provide mutual military assistance and support in the security sector.
