Russia Producing Fake Videos About Donbas? Lavrov Calls State Department Statements Hallucination

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has labeled the statements from the U.S. regarding Russia allegedly preparing provocation videos for an "attack" on Ukraine as a hallucination, according to RIA Novosti.

“I am not the one to guess why our Western partners might be surprised in modern conditions. They express astonishment for reasons and without reasons, mostly without reasons or for reasons of their own making. I read some statements from the State Department, claiming that Russia is preparing fake videos concerning a supposed attack by Ukrainian forces in the Donbas. Well, I don’t know, the hallucinatory nature of such fabrications is apparent to any somewhat experienced political scientist,” said Lavrov.

U.S. authorities assert that Russian intelligence services are allegedly preparing to shoot a video that would depict a staged attack by Ukrainian soldiers on Russian territory or against their Russian-speaking compatriots, featuring scenes of "dead," destroyed buildings, grieving individuals, Ukrainian weaponry, and footage of Turkish-made drones. Washington believes that such a "fake" could provide a pretext for Russia to initiate military operations against the neighboring country. In response to media requests for evidence, State Department spokesperson Ned Price urged trust in the word of the American government.
