Japan's Health Minister Suggests Masking Two-Year-Old Children
Japan's Health Minister Shigeyuki Goto has proposed that even two-year-old children should wear masks to prevent another wave of coronavirus, as reported by Kyodo News.
"The current situation related to the Omicron variant indicates that the main transfer of infections is shifting to older adults and children. This could trigger a new wave of infections, and we must approach this issue positively," said Goto.
Previously, Professor Dirk Dietmeier from the University of North Carolina highlighted ways to protect against the Omicron variant of coronavirus. According to him, this includes vaccinations, the use of booster doses when necessary, as well as maintaining social distance and wearing masks when interacting with others.
