Stabbing Incident in Yerevan Among 16-Year-Old College Students
On February 2, a stabbing incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 2:50 PM, the police received a report from the number 1 university hospital that a citizen had been admitted with a "stab wound to the back surface of the left thigh." Five minutes later, another report was received from the Izmirlian medical center, informing that another citizen had been admitted with a "stab wound to the right chest area."
The operational group from the police department of Kanaker-Zeytun arrived at number 1 university hospital and learned that the injured individual was 18-year-old K. Bagoyan, a resident of Kotayk Province. Meanwhile, the other operational group that went to Izmirlian medical center identified the other victim as 17-year-old A. Hakobyan, residing in Armavir Province.
While doctors were fighting for the lives of the injured, law enforcement officials were investigating the circumstances of the incident. According to reports, at approximately 1:40 PM on the same day, a disagreement occurred over personal matters near one of the addresses on Tbilisi Highway, involving A. Hakobyan, K. Bagoyan, 16-year-old A. Rustamyan from Kotayk Province, 16-year-old V. Vardanyan from Gegharkunik Province, and 16-year-old G. Gasparyan from Lori Province on one side, and 16-year-old K. Sargsyan, 16-year-old A. Galstyan, and 16-year-old D. Muradyan, all residents of Yerevan, on the other.
During the altercation, it escalated into a brawl, at which point A. Galstyan used a knife to stab A. Hakobyan and K. Avetisyan.
Investigative materials are being prepared at the police department of Kanaker-Zeytun regarding the incident. Upon the investigator's decision, a series of examinations have been ordered, including forensic medical examinations. All individuals taken to the police have been released.
