Director of Preschool 124 Addresses Incident Involving Child Eating Soil and Feces
An incident involving a child with a Pakistani father and an Armenian mother at one of Yerevan's preschools has sparked outrage. The police confirmed in an interview with Auroranews that they have indeed received reports of abuse involving the child from caregivers and educators at the preschool.
As media reports suggested the involvement of Preschool 124, Aravot.am reached out to the newly appointed director, Rouzanna Ladoyan, via phone.
"The parent has contacted the police; this is of interest to all of us. The police are handling it, currently, the relevant department dealing with minors is conducting an investigation, and the Yerevan municipality is also informed. We are also eager to find out what actually happened or didn't happen; we are waiting for updates. This is a case unrelated to reality, but since the matter is with the police, like myself, other staff members and I are waiting to see what they will clarify," said the director of Preschool 124.
The media outlet inquired about how the child's parent interacted with the preschool staff and whether there had been any previous issues. The director responded that she had been appointed only after the previous director's death and was not aware of any issues. "I am newly appointed and have not dealt with the parent or child regarding any matter, which is why I cannot answer your questions," Ms. Ladoyan stated.
