Criminal Case Initiated Over Child Abuse Incident in Kindergarten

A criminal case has been initiated in relation to an incident of child abuse at a kindergarten. This was reported by the police to the media.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 119 of the RA Criminal Code, which pertains to causing physical pain or severe psychological suffering, punishable by imprisonment for a period of 3-7 years.

It is noteworthy that this incident involves a child with a Pakistani father and an Armenian mother, sparking waves of outrage. In a conversation with Auroranews, the police confirmed that indeed there has been a report regarding child abuse by caregivers at one of the kindergartens.

Following the spread of information suggesting that the incident occurred at kindergarten #124, Aravot.am reached out to the newly appointed director, Rouzanna Ladoyan, via phone.

“The parent has contacted the police, and it interests all of us. The police are handling this; currently, the relevant department for minors is conducting an investigation. The Yerevan City Hall is also informed. We are also interested to find out what has actually happened or has not happened, so we are waiting. This is a case that bears no relation to reality, but if the matter is with the police, both I and the other employees are waiting to see what they will clarify,” said the director of kindergarten #124.

The media inquired about how the child's parent interacted with the kindergarten staff and whether there had been any issues. The director responded that she was appointed after the previous director's passing and was unaware of any such matters. “I have just been appointed, and I haven't dealt with the parent and child regarding any issues, so I cannot answer your questions,” Ms. Ladoyan said.
