White House on Deployment of Additional American Troops in Europe

The White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has explained the decision to deploy additional American troops in Europe, reports RT.

She stated that this decision was not made in response to any recent events or new intelligence received by the United States over the past few days.

“We have been consulting with our allies and partners in the region for several weeks now, where these troops are being sent,” TASS quotes Psaki as saying.

Earlier, Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby noted that the additional American military forces would be present in Europe at their invitation.
