VIDEO: Hysteria in Azerbaijan as Vehicles Checked by Artsakh Police Besides Peacekeepers
Azerbaijani media outlets have sparked hysteria over the fact that during the transit of two Azerbaijani vehicle convoys carrying humanitarian cargo in Nagorno-Karabakh, the vehicles were checked not only by Russian peacekeepers but also by employees of the Artsakh Republic Police, Tert.am reports.
According to Minval.az, this is a 'gross violation of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020.' The media outlet did not rule out that this might be the result of a 'deal' between the Russian and Artsakh sides.
It is worth noting that the personnel of the Russian peacekeeping contingent have ensured the safe escort of two Azerbaijani vehicle convoys carrying humanitarian cargo through the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. The Russian military police escorted a convoy of about 20 vehicles loaded with construction materials and food along the Mataghis–Getavan–Vank route and vice versa.
Mikhail Kirilenko, a representative of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, stated that this route runs through mountainous terrain, which requires great attention from the vehicle drivers and accompanying personnel. The length of the route is 42 kilometers.
While following the route, the convoy passed through three checkpoints that ensure the safety of vehicles within the responsibility zone of the checkpoints.
