Photos: Asphalt Paving Machine Blown Up on Artashat Highway
The investigative division of the Yerevan Investigative Committee has accepted the case regarding the damaging of an asphalt paving machine on Artashat Highway. According to preliminary information, on January 26, 2022, at around 05:00 AM, a citizen reported that a tractor was blown up in Noragavit. On the same day, a report was also received from an employee of an LLC indicating that around 04:30, an asphalt paving machine brand ‘AMM ANN’ was damaged using an explosive device.
Based on these reports, examinations were conducted at the scene and on the vehicle, during which the asphalt paving machine was found in damaged condition on Artashat Highway, specifically in the middle of the main and secondary traffic lanes, along with a grenade launcher and parts.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Shengavit division of the Yerevan investigative department of the RA Police under part 2, clause 1 of Article 185 and part 2 of Article 235 of the RA Criminal Code, which has been forwarded for further investigation to the Shengavit division of the Yerevan investigative committee.
During the preliminary investigation, urgent investigative and procedural actions have been carried out, including the seizure of recordings from surveillance cameras present at the scene and the appointment of forensic examinations.
The investigation is ongoing. Measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the case, ensure an objective and comprehensive investigation, identify and locate the individual(s) suspected of committing the alleged crime, and present them to the prosecuting authority.
A directive has been given to the investigating authority.
