Azerbaijan Plans to Build Railway Extending to Armenia's Border by 2023
Azerbaijan plans to construct a railway that will extend to the border with Armenia by 2023, President Ilham Aliyev announced today. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
According to information circulated in Azerbaijani media, the airport in Zangilan will be put into operation in 2022, and the railway to the Armenian border will be built in 2023. Additionally, the construction of a roadway will also take place.
It is noteworthy that on January 11, 2021, the leaders of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan signed a trilateral statement regarding the unblocking of economic and transport links in the region.
