VIDEO: Protesters in Ottawa Smash Quarantine Camps

Footage has surfaced online showing the aftermath of quarantine camps that were destroyed by protesters in Ottawa.

Previously, it was reported that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family had evacuated their residence due to security concerns amid protests against COVID-19 restrictions in Ottawa, according to CBC. However, details about Trudeau's specific whereabouts have not been disclosed. His residence is located not far from the city center.

On January 29, protests against COVID-19 restrictions took place across Canada. According to CBC, around 1,000 trucks and other protesters gathered at Parliament Hill. The protest was reported to have been peaceful, and authorities noted that no charges have been filed against any of the demonstrators, as stated by the Ottawa police representative, РБК reports.

The protests are expected to continue on Sunday, with authorities estimating that up to 10,000 people may participate. Meanwhile, some protesters have declared that they will not leave until their demands are met or Trudeau resigns from his position.
