Tragic Car Accident in Vayots Dzor Region

On February 1, a tragic car accident occurred in the Vayots Dzor region. Around 11:30, 68-year-old Merujan Babayan, a resident of Vayots Dzor, lost control of his VAZ 2106 vehicle while driving on the Yerevan-Eraskh-Meghri highway, veering off the road at the 1st kilometer towards Jermuk, and rolling several times for about 100 meters before landing in a ravine.

According to reports from the scene by shamshyan.com, the driver died on the spot. His body was discovered outside the vehicle by the firefighters from the emergency situations ministry's Eghegnadzor fire station No. 59, who had great difficulty approaching it for transfer to the ambulance that had arrived promptly from Eghegnadzor hospital.
