The Closed Meeting of the Civil Contract Party Concluded: When Will the Presidential Candidate Be Announced?

The closed meeting of the Civil Contract Party faction has concluded. NEWS.am was informed by Civil Contract MP Hovik Agazaryan.

He stated that the issue of the presidential candidate was also discussed during the meeting. The MP mentioned that they need to wait for a week to find out who the candidate will be.

It has been reported that the party is considering nominating the Minister of High-Tech Industry, non-partisan Vahagn Khachaturyan, for this position. Earlier, there were rumors that the Civil Contract Party was planning to nominate Arayik Harutyunyan, the head of the Prime Minister's office.

It is noteworthy that the President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, can withdraw his resignation request until midnight today, which is why the authorities are refraining from expressing any opinion.
