Murder on Amiryan Street Solved
On the night of January 30 at 1:31 AM, the operational management center received a report from the Central Police Department. They informed that there was an injured person lying at the intersection of Amiryan Street and Mashtots Avenue, who was bleeding. An emergency call had also been made to 1-03.
A medical team transported the young man to the number 1 university hospital, from where the Central Police Department received the report that a dead body of a man had been transferred from the intersection of Amiryan Street and Mashtots Avenue.
Operational investigative groups, forensic experts, and patrol officers who arrived at the scene discovered blood-like traces, a broken blade knife, a flashlight, and more. It was later revealed that the knife blade had remained in the body of the murdered man.
The criminal investigators from the Yerevan city administration and the Central Police Department, through operational measures conducted on site, determined that the deceased was a 35-year-old employee of a flower shop in the area. It appeared that someone had argued with him and then stabbed him multiple times.
Efforts to identify and locate the suspect lasted for hours. On the same day at dawn, police officers discovered the suspect in one of the hotel complexes on Myasnikian Avenue. The 30-year-old man, a resident of Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan, was taken to the Central Police Department and later presented to the investigative body handling the case. He has provided a confession and has been arrested.
The circumstances of the incident are being clarified in the framework of a criminal case initiated on the basis of murder characteristics. Expert examinations have been appointed.
