Dramatic Stunt Accident in Aragatsotn Region: Driver in Critical Condition
On January 30, a major and dramatic car accident occurred in the Aragatsotn region. Around 01:00, 23-year-old Levon Grigoryan, a resident of Talin, lost control of his Mercedes vehicle on the 24th kilometer of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway. He veered off the roadway, crashing into an iron electricity pole near the Ashtarak bridge, damaging it, and then continued forward, breaking the iron railing of the bridge and the road's metal barrier. The car flew approximately 25 meters through the air, collided with fir trees at the roadside, and ended up overturned on the rocks underneath the bridge.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, driver Levon Grigoryan was transported to the Ashtarak Medical Center with critical injuries. The emergency response team from the hospital promptly provided first aid at the scene before the victim was taken to the hospital.
Officers from the Traffic Police's 2nd Battalion, 1st Company arrived at the scene, led by Deputy Commander Aram Adibekyan, Battalion Commander Vache Malakyan, and Company Commander Grant Galstyan. Senior investigators Vahe Eloyan and Hayk Vardanyan from the same battalion also arrived. Investigative work at the scene was supervised by Vahe Eloyan, who is preparing documents regarding the incident.
Information about the accident was relayed to the Ashtarak division of the police by Mihran Mirzoyan, the officer on duty at the 177 operational management center of the Traffic Police, resulting in the arrival of an operational group led by the head of the juvenile affairs department, Khachatryan. By the investigator's order, the vehicle was removed to the police station's secured area using a crane.
