37-Year-Old Woman and 4 Children Die in Fire in Russia
A resident of the Plesetsk community in Russia's Arkhangelsk region and her four young children have died due to a fire that broke out on Saturday night. According to TASS news agency, referencing the Russian Investigative Committee, a criminal case has been initiated following the fire that occurred in a wooden house.
The fire reportedly erupted in a building consisting of 12 apartments. During the firefighting operations, the bodies of a 37-year-old woman and her four children, aged between 3 to 12 years, were discovered. The preliminary cause of death is said to be poisoning from combustion materials.
A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of articles related to “Causing death due to negligence to two or more persons” and “Negligence resulting in the death of two or more persons.” Other residents of the building were unharmed. One theory suggests that the cause of the incident was a malfunction in the electric stove used in the large family's apartment.
