Accident in Yerevan: Trolleybus 9 Collides with Mercedes Truck
Today, on January 29, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 08:30, a trolleybus serving route 9 collided with a Mercedes truck under the Friendship overpass.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the collision, the Mercedes overturned, and one person was transported to the hospital with bodily injuries.
Quickly responding, the patrol officers from the 4th battalion of the Yerevan police were led by battalion commander Armen Gasparyan and platoon commander Staffi Dilyanyan. Senior patrol officer Hakob Paronyan and junior officer Argam Kirakosyan, along with officers Varuzhan Balayan and Gevorg Manukyan, performed enhanced services on-site to ensure that curious drivers did not park their vehicles, thus avoiding congestion.
Information about the accident has been forwarded from the Yerevan Police Patrol Service to the investigative division handling road traffic incidents. A duty group arrived at the scene, headed by division chief Grigor Avetisyan and senior investigator Zhirayr Margaryan. Investigative materials are currently being prepared by Z. Margaryan.
The patrol service is working to identify the drivers of the Mercedes and the injured party.
According to G. Shamshyan's reports, the overturned Mercedes belongs to the well-known dairy company “Mariana” in Armenia.
