Why Has Turkey's Minister of Justice Changed?
Turkey's Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gül announced his resignation, the reasons for which he did not specify, reports Interfax.
"With the approval of our esteemed President, I resign from the position of Minister of Justice, in which I have served since July 19, 2017," he wrote on Twitter on Saturday.
Gül thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for accepting his resignation.
The Turkish Ministry of Justice will be led by Bekir Bozdağ, whose appointment as minister is noted in the same presidential decree that confirmed Gül's resignation. Bozdağ has previously served as the president of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors of Turkey and has also been a deputy prime minister.
