The United States and the European Union are finalizing a package of sanctions against Russia that could be imposed if Russian President Vladimir Putin decides to invade Ukraine. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing informed sources.

According to the report, the sanctions will mainly target transactions related to the refinancing of Russian state debt, the financial sector, as well as individual entrepreneurs and persons close to the Kremlin.

The sources highlight that representatives of the Biden administration and European leaders have been coordinating the details of potential sanctions for several weeks. Now, that process is "nearing completion."
