Closed and Impassable Roads

There are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia, with snowfall occurring in some areas. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The roads leading from the ‘Amberd’ high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and the Kharij Lake are closed.

In the Vayots Dzor region, the Saravan-‘Zanger’ road section, where it is snowing, and the Vardenyats Pass are impassable for trucks with trailers. It is recommended to use chains on tires.

In the Spitak bends and on the highways of the Syunik region, there is occasional black ice.

According to information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the crisis management center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepanavan-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
