Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov gave a live interview discussing key issues of foreign policy and the international agenda with four radio stations. This was reported by RIA.

During the interview, the minister addressed the tense situation with the West over Ukraine, stating that Russia does not desire wars but will not allow its interests to be ignored.

Russia's most important demand remains the alliance's refusal to expand eastward and the return of NATO forces to the borders set in 1997 (when the Russia-NATO Founding Act was signed). Neither Washington nor Brussels are prepared to provide such guarantees, citing among other things that no country has been forced to join the organization.
