300 People Still Considered Missing – Armenians and Azerbaijanis, Red Cross

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has published an article addressing the post-war situation and ongoing efforts in relation to it. The article notes that since the military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020, about 300 people are still considered missing, including both Armenians and Azerbaijanis.

“Since the signing of the ceasefire agreement in November 2020, the remains of more than 1,700 individuals have been discovered. Subsequently, the process of identifying these remains and returning them to their families has started,” states the ICRC announcement.

It is also noted that over 4,500 Armenians and Azerbaijanis are considered missing due to the conflicts of the 1990s. Earlier, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia reported that as of January 19, the total number of fallen servicemen and civilians in Armenia and Artsakh is 3,809. A total of 199 servicemen and civilians are considered missing. To date, the Republic of Azerbaijan has handed over a total of 141 captured servicemen and civilians to the Republic of Armenia.
