Chilling Details: Parts of Woman Found Below Knees in Yard, Clothes and Axe in Trash

The investigation into the brutal murder of a 69-year-old woman is underway at the Lori province investigation department of the RA Investigative Committee. This was reported by the Committee.

According to preliminary data, on January 26, 2022, at 10:02 AM, a call was received regarding a murder that had occurred in one of the houses on Tigranyan Street in the city of Vanadzor. An investigative-operative group immediately dispatched to the scene discovered a dismembered body of a resident born in 1952 inside the apartment, while in the yard, the lower parts of her legs were found below the knees, and in the trash, the woman's clothing, a knife resembling blood-like liquid, and an axe.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Lori province investigation department based on Article 104, Part 2, Point 5 of the RA Criminal Code.

On the same day, the husband of the murdered woman, born in 1945, was detained from the scene and interrogated as a suspect concerning the circumstances of the case.

During the preliminary investigation, urgent investigative and procedural actions were carried out, including the seizure of the clothes worn by the suspect at the time of the incident, collection of samples, and the assignment of forensic, biological, genetic, and criminological examinations. Several witnesses have also been interrogated.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are being taken to ensure a comprehensive and objective examination and to verify the circumstances mentioned in the statements. Instructions have been given to the investigative authority.

Note: A suspect in a presumed crime is considered innocent until proven guilty by a court's legally effective verdict as per the provisions of the RA Criminal Procedure Code.
