Ruben Melikyan Refuses to Visit Restricted Institutions for 7 Days in Protest
In protest, I will refrain from visiting any "restricted" institution for 7 days. This was announced by human rights defender Ruben Melikyan on his Facebook page.
“Today, I visited 2 cafes. In one, I was only required to show a QR code, while in the other, they also scanned it. In both places, I was informed that many customers had been turned away due to lack of proper documentation. They were not at all enthusiastic about the new requirements. This pointless new headache is harming businesses, limiting freedom of movement, and infringing on personal privacy. AND AS A CONTRADICTION, its effectiveness has not been proven at all. In any case, in protest, I will abstain from visiting any 'restricted' institution for 7 days. The only exception is the library, as there is no alternative.
PS: I hope they do not impose a requirement for a QR code, phone password, or duplicate bank card just to have a meal at home,” he wrote.
