I Don't Remember Potato Prices Reaching One Dollar During My Conscious Life: Srbuhi Grigoryan
I don't remember that the price of potatoes, which is one of the essential vegetables most widely consumed, has ever reached one dollar during my conscious life. This was stated by former MP Srbuhi Grigoryan on her Facebook page.
“The prices of vegetables in the market speak to the current situation in the agricultural sector. I don’t remember the price of this essential and most consumed vegetable reaching one dollar during my conscious life. Farmers are already discussing the unreasonable prices of nitrogen fertilizers. If the government does not subsidize the sector appropriately, the cost of vegetables and grain crops will increase, leading to further price hikes.”
She emphasized the need to urgently reopen the Ministry of Agriculture and develop appropriate policies. “This issue existed before the war, and now it’s even more pressing for obvious reasons, which I won’t enumerate. If nothing is done in this direction, the number of impoverished citizens will increase, thereby adding to the number of semi-hungry children. It cannot be said, ‘Have many children’ without having a policy and vision for feeding them,” she wrote.
