Human Pollution Levels Have Reached Extremely Dangerous Levels Worldwide

Scientists at the Stockholm Center for Sustainable Development have reported that human pollution has reached extremely dangerous levels that threaten natural ecosystems. This is reported by The Guardian.

According to experts, the main cause of the highest levels of pollution is plastic and more than 3,500 synthetic chemicals. These include pesticides, industrial compounds, and antibiotics. They destroy insects that animals feed on, thereby also eliminating plant life.

Additionally, the rate at which toxic compounds are released into the environment poses a threat to natural ecosystems. All of this indicates a violation of the "planetary boundary." The planetary chemical pollution boundary is one of five boundary limits. The world has moved past the thresholds of global warming, wildlife destruction, biodiversity loss, and phosphorus and nitrogen pollution.

It is also noteworthy that earlier, scientists indicated that the risk of depression increases for people living in polluted air.
