China Responds to Bloomberg: Did China's Leader Ask Russia's Leader Not to Attack Ukraine?

The Chinese Embassy in Russia has denied the information disseminated by Bloomberg, alleging that Chinese President Xi Jinping requested Russian President Vladimir Putin not to attack Ukraine during the Beijing Olympic Games.

According to kommersant.ru, the Chinese diplomatic representation believes that the publication contains false information and provocation.

"Bloomberg's report that the Chinese leader asked the Russian leader not to attack Ukraine during the Olympic Games in order not to spoil the atmosphere is fake and a provocation. China's position on the Ukrainian issue is consistent and clear: the Chinese side advocates for the resolution of disagreements through dialogue and consultation within the framework of the Minsk agreements," the Chinese Embassy stated on Twitter.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has described the agency's article as an information special operation by American intelligence services. The ministry has not ruled out military provocations by the U.S. and Ukraine ahead of the Olympic Games.

The Games are scheduled to take place from February 4 to 20.
