Accident in Yerevan: Vehicle Strikes Shop After Leaving Traffic Zone
Today, on January 22, an accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 10:40 AM, at the intersection of Halabyan and Arzumanyan streets, a Nissan and a Mercedes collided near the pedestrian crossing.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan from the scene, fortunately, there were no injuries reported from the accident based on preliminary information. The emergency medical team from Yerevan arrived promptly, providing first aid to the citizens on-site, although they refused to go to the hospital.
A firefighting unit from the Armenian Emergency Situations Ministry’s Yerevan Fire and Rescue Service No. 7 also arrived quickly. The firefighters disconnected the vehicles' power and closed the gas cylinder while maintaining watch at the scene.
Officers from the 2nd platoon of the Yerevan patrol service, led by platoon commander Levon Badalyan and deputy commander David Nikoghosyan, arrived on the scene. Officers Grigor Simonyan and Arek Ghamaryan secured the area to prevent curious drivers from parking their vehicles and causing congestion.
The patrol service is working to identify the drivers, with documentation being prepared concerning the incident. Representatives from insurance companies have also arrived on-site.
The photojournalist reports that as a result of the collision, the Mercedes left the traffic zone, hit a stall, and ended up on the sidewalk designated for pedestrians, causing material damage to the stall owner.
