Over 10 Cars Robbed in Yerevan in One Day

In recent days, the number of car thefts in the capital has increased. According to shamshyan.com, it has reached a point where more than 10 cars are being robbed in a single day. The thief or thieves do not discriminate based on administrative areas or car brands, primarily targeting expensive vehicles and those with 'gold' license plates.

On January 13, a 22-year-old resident of Ararat Province, Vahe A., stole the side mirrors of a Mercedes parked near one of the houses on Norq Marash 13th Street and left the scene unnoticed. Officers from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Marash Police Department, responding to the alert, arrived at the scene, documented the theft, and subsequently tracked down the suspect, Vahe A.

It seems that the police considered the crime resolved with this discovery. However, according to SHAMSHYAN.com, the suspect admitted to stealing from parked cars in various administrative areas of the capital throughout January. After this confession, the police likely considered their work finished and released the thief. The affected citizens were informed that materials were being prepared regarding the thefts.

The owner of the Mercedes, 51-year-old Haikaz D., suffered damages amounting to approximately 1 million 600 thousand drams.
