Earthquake Near Jermuk City
Today, on January 19, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.4 was recorded 28 km northwest of Jermuk city. This information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.
According to the announcement, the epicenter was at a depth of 10 km. "At 22:35 local time (18:35 Greenwich Mean Time), an earthquake was registered by the seismic network of the territorial service of earthquake protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations at geographic coordinates of 39.92° north latitude and 45.37° east longitude," the statement from the Ministry noted. The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral zone was measured at 3 points.
The earthquake was felt in the city of Yeghegnadzor in the Vayots Dzor province, as well as in the villages of Aghnjadzor, Artabuynk, Taratumb, Vernashen, Shatin, and Karaglukh, with an intensity of 2-3 points.
